Before this reads to the end, let’s just glance over a brief history of Valentine’s Day.

VALENTINE’S DAY

So, Valentine’s Day is connected to a popular Saint Valentinus in Rome. This Saint, a priest who lived around the second AD met his death in a gruesome way. Martyred for performing weddings for soldiers with a pact of celibacy and courting persecuted Christians, Valentine got a populous pedigree for his act of love and service.

Also, before his death on the 14th of February, Valentine went on to heal the blind daughter of his jailer and professedly, wrote a letter to her ending it with “Your Valentine”. In truth and in deed, he loved the jailer’s daughter. This dealt a final absolution to his name and made it just appropriate to describe a love season.

Then, around the 14th century (the medieval age), Valentine’s Day became a trend. On this day, lovers show love to one another with confectionaries, flowers and greeting cards they call valentines. Now, Valentine’s Day is a widely celebrated day. And although there is no public holiday on this day, it bears a lot of credence among religious and secular circles.

And for this year’s Valentine’s Day, February 14th, VTpass has all the intention to extend a gesture of love. Because love does not hang on mere words, it lives in the deeds; in those gestures that, though small, go on to last forever.
