The show we’ve all been waiting for is here! And with it, the men and women set to entertain us for the next 90 days. The new BBNaija season 5 housemates finally revealed!

In this year’s edition themed “Lockdown”, 20 contestants would be competing for a whooping N85 million. So sit back, relax, and meet the housemates of BBNaija season 5:

Neo

Emuobonuvie Akpofure is a 26-year-old ride-hailing app driver from Delta state. He describes himself as smart and fun bringing a lot of good vibes, cruise, and entertainment to the house. He claims his biggest achievement is winning N500,000 at a talent competition.

Brighto

Ezekiel Bright Osemudiame, 29-year-old, is a sailor from Edo state. He speaks Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba, and Edo languages fluently. He’s a lover of swimming, traveling, and adventure. His biggest achievement was when he got a scholarship to study abroad plus his third engineering license.

Lucy

30-year-old Lucy Essien says she lights up every room she enters. She is an entrepreneur who believes in fairytales, loves good food, and likes her space.

Nengi

Rebecca Hampson is a formal model turned entrepreneur. At 22-year-old, she is a graduate of the University of Port Harcourt. Haven made it to top 5 in MBGN competition, she wants people to look past her beauty.

Praise

Praise Nelson 28-year-old is a dance instructor and a male erotic dancer. He was a winner at the 2015 K Pop World Festival in South Korea. He is also a fitness trainer and certified Latin ballroom expert.

Vee

Born and raised in London, Victoria Adeyele AKA Vee, is a 23-year old beauty who loves music. In an early discussion with a housemate, she revealed she decided not to study at a university because she wanted to focus on music.

Eric

Eric Akhigbe, a final year student at the University of Lagos is a fitness instructor. He loves competitive sports and derives pleasure from completing tasks.

Laycon

Olamilekan Agbeleshe AKA Laycon is a graduate of Philosophy from the University of Lagos. The 26-year old is equally a rapper and singer currently signed to Fierce Nation record label. His greatest achievement is ‘Fierce’ that has been in MTV Base Top 10 charts for 10 months.

Ka3na

Kate Jones is a single mom of a beautiful daughter who claims her aim in the house is to promote her brand, not to look for love. She dreams to be famous and to own the biggest fashion brand in the world.

TrickyTee

Timmy Sinclair is a 35-year-old creative artist from Bayelsa state. He considers himself a storyteller who uses the medium of film and music to express himself. He claims he will be causing a lot of trouble with his outspokenness.

Dorothy

This one is hot! 24-year-old Dorathy Bachor started trending on Twitter the moment she graced the screen. She is an entrepreneur whose greatest achievement is SHOPFORME, a big procurement company in Nigeria.

Ozo

Ozoemena Chukwu is a 27-year-old entrepreneur from Imo state. The guy is handsome with his biceps, height, and light skin tone. His biggest achievement is working in UEFA Federation for Europe.

Tolanibaj

Tolani Shobajo AKA Tolanibaj is a media personality who is in the house for the money. A proud Marlian, the 27-year-old says she is the life of the party and she loves to cook.

Lilo

Boluwatife Aderogba is a goal-driven lady who likes to be in charge. At 23 years old, she is a Lagos-based dietitian. She doesn’t like people been all up in her business. Her biggest achievement is starting her brand.

Kiddwaya

This guy whose full name is Terseer Kiddwaya, hates spiders. He says his confidence is often mistaken for arrogance. Hailing from Benue state, he is self-employed and hopes to bring a lot of fun into the house.

Wathoni

Her full name is Florence Wathoni Anyansi and she is half Kenyan, half Nigerian. She speaks and writes in Swahili perfectly. The 29-year-old single mom is a fashion entrepreneur who owns a parenting blog. She loves music and is in the house to gain fans and to find love.

Kaisha

Aisha Umaru Kaisha is the only northerner in the house. She hails from Sokoto state and owns a skincare business. At 25 years old, she describes herself as a hardworking lady who gets along with people. She loves to sing and dance.

Tochi

Tochukwu Okechukwu is 28 rapper and a real estate agent from Imo state. He is a lover of entertainment and promises to bring a lot of fun and drama to the house. His biggest achievement is his independency.

Erica

A graduate of MET film school, London, Ngozi Nlewedim Erica is an actress and a commercial model. She also says she is bringing a lot of good vibes to the house. What more do we expect from the model who loves to dance in front of the mirror alone?

Prince

Nelson Enwerem by name, the 24-year-old Prince is a native of Abia state. He is into interior decoration, fashion designing, and modeling. He has promised to show us some dance moves at Friday night parties; we can’t wait to see that!

5 Things to Expect from BBNaija 2020 Season 5

It’s been all hot. Real hot; since MultiChoice announced in June that the 5th season of the Big Brother Naija (bbnaija) reality TV show premieres on July 19th, 2020.

Pulses have risen, eyes raised, hands robbing together as millions of fans wonder what to expect from this year’s edition.

If you’re like us standing at the door trying to peck inside? Don’t flex a muscle! We’ve got you covered. Here are 5 things to expect from this year’s BBNaija reality TV show, Season 5:

1. Bigger Prize Money

When the show organizers claimed that this year’s prize money was going to be bigger, they weren’t joking. A whopping N85 million awaits the King or Queen who conquers the house. N85 million!

The breakdown of the grand prize for BBNaija season five includes an N30m cash prize; a two-bedroom apartment courtesy Revolution Plus; a top of the range SUV from Nigerian automaker, Innoson Motors; a trip to Dublin courtesy Guinness; home appliances courtesy Scanfrost; a trip to Dubai packaged by Travelbeta; a year’s supply of Indomie noodles, Munch it and Colgate toothpaste; a year’s supply of Pepsi, a branded chiller and a trip to watch the UEFA Champions League finale; and a brand new Oppo mobile smartphone.

By far, this is the biggest prize for a TV reality show in Africa. Imagine what you could do with all those goodies!

2. COVID-19 safety measures

The organizers mentioned earlier that they would be taking precautions to keep the housemates safe and coronavirus-free in season five of the show.

We shouldn’t be surprised to see health workers in the house performing health screenings or frequently disinfecting the house in the course of the show. This should be fun.

However, we wouldn’t see any live audience at the Sunday eviction show or external visitors like celebrities or BBNaija Ninjas in the house this year. Ouch.

Carefully tested measures have been put in place to ensure minimal contact with outsiders once the housemates enter the house.

3. Dramatic relationship, intense friendship zoning

Oh-my-god relationships, wow friendships, hahaha fights; these are the little things that keep us glued to the show.

We have seen several relationships in previous seasons and some definitely led to marriage. Teddy A and BamBam got married last year and gave us our Big Brother Naija baby.

Yeah, we know some relationships didn’t end so well, but it’s always exciting witnessing the build-up process. Season 5 wouldn’t be any different!

4. More fun games, unpredictable twists

BBNaija without the mind twists is definitely not BBNaija. Last year, just when the housemates thought that they have seen more than enough, Big Brother brought in five more housemates in just one week. The introduction of Venita, Elozonam, Enkay, Joe, and Cindy definitely spiced things up.

What about the Ultimate Veto Power given to housemates to nominate other housemates for possible eviction?

When it comes to games, BBNaija sure got it. Perhaps Betway or Guinness Nigeria would put together one of those games that always leads to drama and exciting conversations thereafter.

It’s never down to the basics, Biggie always seems to have more tricks under his sleeves.

5. Nerve-pulling Diary sessions

Big Brother is never complete without the fun of the diary room where housemates go to pour out their hearts to Big Brother. Yikes! A lot of things are revealed in that room.

Every season, there are always housemates we refer to them as the Kings and Queens of the Diary room. We always look forward to their sessions.

Omoshola in 2019 (PepperDem) was definitely a King of the Diary room. His sessions were hilarious, exciting, and interesting to watch. He didn’t care if he was using pidgin English and English at the same time or how funny what he said could sound, he just had to say his mind.

Surely, contestants coming into the house this season understands what the diary room means and would be hoping to make the most of it. More entertainment for us! The rule is simple: “say your mind”.

Bonus – A Possible Crossdresser?

This one almost broke the internet, so we decided to make it a bonus. A Nigerian crossdresser known as Jay Boogie took to his Instagram account to ask for a social media account manager as he was going into the house.

For real? Some people affirmed this information was true, others claimed they were lies. Well, we would leave it at that and see what the house brings.

Big Brother Naija Season 5 Set to Hits the Screens

Mark your calendars, save the date! Nigeria’s biggest TV reality show, Big Brother Nigeria (season 5) would premiere on July 19, 2020.

MultiChoice Nigeria revealed this in a statement issued in Lagos on Monday; much to the delight of fans and viewers who had feared this year’s season might be canceled due to the coronavirus effects.

Online auditions which replaced scheduled live audition and were a stunning success. Over 30,000 entries from BBNaija hopefuls across Nigeria poured unto the laps of the show’s organizers.

And why not? The prize money this year would be bigger than that of season 4, according to African Magic Channel Director, Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu.

Coronavirus protection measures would be put in place, however, for the safety of housemates as well as the production crew. According to the Channel Director, African Magic; potential housemates along with possible replacements for any housemate who tests positive to the virus before the kickoff date, are currently been quarantined.

La Liga Resumes June 11: Here’s What to Expect and Where to Watch

It has been 82 days since La liga suspended fixtures due to the coronavirus pandemic with 11 games left to play. We are all curious about where to watch the games to be played.

LaLiga announced the Spanish top-flight would resume on June 11 starting with a derby match between Sevilla and Real Betis. Matches would take place every day across five weeks so that the season can come to an end by the 19th of July.

Tight Race for the Title

It’s not over yet at the top of the table as Barcelona sits only two points away from Real Madrid. The men in white beat their long time rivals 2-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu to climb on top of the table; only to lose their position again to Barca when they lost to formidable Real Sociedad.

Sevilla remains in hot pursuit with only 9 points behind Madrid and one point away from Real Sociedad. 3 straight losses for any of Barcelona or Madrid within 11 games could hand the trophy to teams in third or fourth position.

The race is on! Anything can happen.

Quite Grounds

Athletico Madrid fight for Top-4

Atletico Madrid’s momentous win over Liverpool in the Champions League offered Diego Simeone some relief after a disappointing season in LaLiga.

His team sits sixth in the table, having long fallen out of the reckoning for the title. They now fight to even qualify for the 2020/2021 Champions League.

One point separates Mallorca, Celta Vigo, and Eibar, all of whom are not completely safe from the relegation zone. For all of them, the pressure is on.

Changes in DStv and GOtv Packages From 1st June 2020.

A few days back, Multichoice announced that they are implementing certain changes in their packages for DStv and GOtv. These changes are meant to take effect from the 1st of June, 2020.

According to an open FAQ document provided by MultiChoice online, the changes are part of their ongoing efforts to ensure customers get improved choices and better value for money whilst delighting them with content that resonate with them.

As surprising as that might sound, the changes are real and would apply to affected DStv and GOtv packages from June 1st, 2020. Here is the full gist of what’s happening:

Removal of two (2) DStv and two (2) GoTV packages

That’s right. The following bouquets would no longer be available for subscription from 1st of June:

The removal of DStv Access might hurt a lot of people as it’s a popular package commonly subscribed for but don’t worry; MultiChoice is adding a new package to their list.

Addition of a new DStv package

In place of the phased out bouquet, MultiChoice would be adding a new packaged called DStv Padi Bouquet E36 (NLTESE36). The packaged would be subscribed for at N1,800 per month.

Change in subscription prices for certain DStv and GOtv packages

Perhaps the biggest news of the coming changes are the adjustments made by MultiChoice in the subscription prices for certain DStv and GOtv packages. Again these price twerks were made to serve customers better, according to MultiChoice.

The new prices alongside the removal of 4 packages and the addition of a new one would all take effect from 1st of June 2020. If you are currently subscribed to any of the 4 bouquets bound to be omitted (DStv Family, DStv Access, GOtv Plus, and GOtv Value), you are advised to upgrade to any of the new or existing packages as the old ones would cease to exist from June 1st.
